The Park

 

The Park is an attractive cedar clad single storey dwelling situated on National Trust land, the brief was to provide independent living accommodation for an elderly relative while being accessible from the host dwelling. The proposal exploited the south facing elevation and provided a veranda that created a lovely seating area in which to enjoy the warm evening sun, in the summer months, additionally it gave interest to what was originally a rather bland existing elevation.

The Coach House

The Coach House was essentially a refurbishment project; originally a coach house to a large country house situated between Stroud and Cirencester, the clients brief was to convert the building into offices where he could run his business from. As with any project that involves a building with listed status the allocated conservation officer was brought into the team at the earliest opportunity to ensure a collaborated proposal when the applications were made. Further involvement was required by the contractors once the works had commence predominately to ensure that the construction methods satisfied the conditions applied to Planning & Listed Building Consent.

Morgan Hall, Fairford

Morgan Hall is a grade II listed building situated in Fairford. The building was bought by the current owner in a dilapidated state, the brief was to achieve consent to reinstate a collapsed kitchen extension to the North Wing and make further internal alterations to facilitate the conversion of the building into two separate dwellings. The project required a close working relationship with the local planning authority, Cotswold District Council,  their initial main concern was that any proposal

should balance the effect on the special interest of the listed building against the viability of any proposed use, therefore consultation from the outset was of the upmost importance and due to this approach the conservation officer became a valuable member of the team which it turn helped the project to achieve the necessary consents to enable the development to take place .
